K2 Funding Group was founded by Theresa Kabot, a respected leader in the equipment finance industry. Under her leadership, the company operates two divisions:

• Third-Party Origination Division – Connecting businesses with an extensive network of banks and funding sources.
• In-House Portfolio – Managing direct equipment finance contracts for businesses that meet our underwriting criteria.

Theresa plays an active role in the day-to-day origination of contracts brokered to banks and funding sources at Kabot Commercial Leasing (KCL) while also overseeing the underwriting of transactions booked at K2 Funding Group.

With more than two decades of experience, Theresa is deeply involved in the commercial finance industry. She is an active member of the National Equipment Finance Association (NEFA) and the American Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (AACFB). Additionally, Theresa is a Certified Lease & Finance Professional (CLFP) in good standing and currently and serves on the Monitor Editorial Board.

Her expertise and dedication to the industry have earned her national recognition. In 2019, Monitor Magazine named her one of the 50 most influential leaders in equipment finance. She has also served as President of the CLFP Foundation, held a position on the UAEL Board of Directors, and continues to contribute to numerous committees within NEFA, AACFB, CLFP, and other industry associations.

Beyond leadership roles, Theresa is passionate about industry education and mentorship. She has been an instructor for the Institute for Leasing Professionals, contributed to NEFA education videos, and authored articles in Monitor Magazine, NEFA Newsline, and AACFB Publications.
